I’m smiling because within the past week, I’ve had the pleasure of two separate one-on-one conversations with two female friends (who coincidentally have the same name), who, after repeatedly getting in unhealthy romantic relationships for most of their adult lives, were each able to get into the most whole, healthy relationships of their entire lives. In fact, one of them invited me to her wedding. The other told me that it was like she met her soul mate. Read more…
Everybody has things in life that they want. They want to lose weight, they want to make more money on their jobs, they want to travel more, etc, etc.
I, being a part of that “everybody,” am no different. There were many things I wanted in life, and year in and year out I’d feel that sense of deprivation as I saw that I wasn’t getting these things. My excuse for not getting the things I wanted was due to circumstances “out of my control,” the main one being not having enough money. Read more…
So far this year, I have gotten involved in some personal “projects” that have financial deadlines that need to be met in order for me to execute the project successfully. I have been doing my part in order that these deadlines get met by engaging in certain “side hustles” (all legal thank you very much), but if you know life, these things have their ups and downs. Some days, things work out in such a way that bring me closer to my goal, and other days, nothing seems to work out and I start to worry about hitting my goal. Read more…
After all these years of internal struggle and toil, I’ve finally come to a place where I can say I am actually happy. Is it because anything changed on the outside? Do I have more money? Do I have more success? Have I been able to garner more toys? Read more…

I’ve been meditating for the last 7 years. I started as a result of a huge crisis in my life where I was questioning whether I even wanted to live, and rather than “give up,” I dug my feet in and said the crisis wasn’t going to beat me, and I picked up meditation to shore up my resolve to make myself stronger to face the situation. Dear Black America,
So, we’re almost at the end of the administration of America’s first biracial President (well, people call him Black, but truly, he’s half), and what is there to show for it? The Black community is still bedeviled by mass incarceration, a poor education system, police brutality, a high amount of single parent households, gang violence, high unemployment, politicians poisoning the water supply, etc. Read more…
If you’ve seen my last blog, CONFESSION: I Have Spiritual Gifts and Abilities!!! you’ll know that I’m going through a strange transition in my life. I’ve become relatively hyper-spiritually sensitive, and I have an increased desire to spend more time by myself so I can connect with God and receive more of his wisdom, insights and revelations. For a number of years, I’ve met quite a few people with some “extraordinary” spiritual abilities.
Some of them could meet someone, and without ever having known them before, would be able to tell them things about themselves, their lives, and the people in them that otherwise “shouldn’t have known.” Read more…
