Do You Have Trouble Having Consistent Faith?

Leap of Faith

Faith is described in the Bible as “the substance of hope,” and “the evidence of things not seen.”

Many people who have accomplished amazing things and overcame extreme hardships attribute it to having Faith in some Higher Power, whether it be God, the Universe, their higher self, Jesus Christ, their ancestors or whatever.

Also, the whole concept about “the Secret” and the Law of Attraction is really just about having Faith.

When people talk about having Faith, they explain that even when they have no physical evidence of having the thing they desire, whether it is getting healed from a sickness, accomplishing a dream, attracting a certain amount of money, or receiving some type of breakthrough, they are able to FEEL as if they already had what they desired which subsequently helped them to “act as if” whatever they desired had already come into fruition.

Along this line of being, they were eventually able to attract what they desired or something better.

They also noticed that when they stepped into Faith, door started opening for them, they started meeting the right people, opportunities would suddenly appear, and they would often wind up being at the “right place at the right time.”

The main thing that I find accentuated is about getting into the feeling of it, and that’s where the magic happens.

But what if you can’t get a hold of that feeling? Or what if you can’t maintain that feeling? Then what?

I had discovered the magic of Faith when I was 20 years old, and honestly, some truly wonderful things happened for me as a result of having Faith including attracting jobs, getting into places for free where I should’ve paid, and getting breaks that I shouldn’t have gotten.

However, as I got older, it became harder and harder for me to have Faith. Besides getting jaded as I got older, the big problem was the “feeling” part. I’d be able to tap into feeling part of my desire for up to at most a few days, but after that, the feeling would invariably wind up going away and I would try frantically to get it back to no avail.

The only feeling I would wind up getting was frustration and a headache from so much straining and trying.

With the feeling gone, I no longer felt as if my goal was possible and I would stop taking action towards making it come into fruition.

To me, the feeling was the sign that my dream was possible, and when the feeling disappeared, I felt I couldn’t go forward.

Have you had similar issues?

Well, as a result of therapy over the last nine months, I’ve been able to see what I was doing wrong and also where others get tripped up.

Feeling “as if” is of course an integral part of being able to have Faith, but when you chase feelings like what I was doing, it becomes more like you a chasing chemical high that feelings give you in the same way people chase a high when they take drugs.

When you’re overly focused on feelings, you’re missing something WAY more important which is TRUST.

When you’re able to fully TRUST that everything is working towards you getting what you desire or something better, the feeling is not as important as it once was, because you know that no matter what you feel from moment to moment, you still know that everything is going to work out.

It’s like you knowing that no matter how cloudy it is outside, that the sun is still shining behind the clouds. It’s also like knowing that no matter how cold and blustery the winter is, spring is eventually going to come because simply put, that’s just the way it is.

You just know this.

Trusting requires simply a releasing or letting go of all judgments of what things look like on the outside, including your feelings, and allowing life to flow for you in such a way that you let your desire unfold for you naturally.

It doesn’t mean that you sit around and do nothing, neither does it mean that you frantically try to make your dreams happen. It means simply being open to being guided as to whether to take action when needed or sit back and allow things to unfold.

You know you’ll know what to do at the appropriate moment because it’ll just feel right.

As I’ve been learning from therapy, you’re able to trust easier when you get more grounded in your body. Getting grounded where you’re able to feel yourself in your body allows you not to be trapped in your head where you’re subject to that constant internal negative chatter that eats away at your Faith.

Also, being grounded gives you a solid foundation to stand strong during the occasional emotional storms that get triggered by the doubt coming from the internal chatter which causes your feelings to fluctuate between feeling utterly confident to feeling completely discouraged.

This allows you to experience your emotions without being carried away by them so that they don’t interfere with your Faith.

When you’re grounded, you cut through the fluctuating feelings and thoughts that serve to interfere with your ability to trust and connect to the core of who you are. It is here, at your core, where you’re able to have a sense of connection to something bigger, call it God, the Divine, the Universe, the Higher Self or simply “the Bigger Picture.”

It is here that you’re able to experience that trust that no matter what you feel, what thoughts come up, and what happens externally, that everything is conspiring to bring you what you desire.

Also, ironically, it is here where since you’ve stopped chasing that feeling of “already having” because you have that trust, that that same feeling is now able to show up more consistently.

Stop depending on the “already having” feeling to tell you that things are going according to Plan, and stop letting your negative thoughts and feelings tell you that things are not going according to Plan, and simply just trust that no matter what’s going on, everything is going according to Plan.

Oh yes, it’s going to take a lot of practice and falling down and a lot of getting back up, but like with anything else in life, if we keep at consistently, we’ll eventually be able to master it.

This is true Faith, and this is The Viable Alternative.

Hope this helps,

Ike Love
