Clueless about Your Life Purpose??? Get out of Your Own Way!
I’ve had it on my heart for the last four years to produce this show called THE IKE SHOW 20__ VIDEO LAUNCH -“Get out of Your Own Way.”
The show, which was originally supposed to take place in 2012, but then was pushed back to 2013, then to 2014, then to…well, let’s just say it’s still “in the works.”
The purpose of the show was to launch a video I had created and was shot in that was inspired by the Calvin Klein 2010 “X Marks the Spot” and the Dolce and Gabana Underwear commercials. It was also to display several life size ads featuring me in different underwear from different designers and the behind the scenes videos of the shoots. It was my DIY (Do It Yourself) attempt to be a superstar of my own making, and to transport guests to a world that shows you what’s possible when you let your dreams take over your heart, rather than your fears and your doubts, and let them guide you to a reality to beyond your wildest expectations.
To put it succinctly, it was to show you what life is like when you, “get out of your own way.”
The problem was that right from the beginning, one thing after the other got in the way of me actually completing this project. First it was photographers who took longer than expected to get me my material I needed to complete the video, then it was the videographer who shot the video and was supposed to edit it completely falling off the face of the Earth taking the deposit I gave him with him, and then, it was a huge amount of financial challenges I had that left me with only enough money to pay my bills and my rent with little left over for anything else.
After much griping and complaining to God, along with prayers to Him for guidance, wisdom and a way to be made for me, it started to become clear that God was telling me, “Oh, so you want to teach people how to get out of their own way? Well, how can you teach others to get out of their own way when you can even get out of yours? Let me first show YOU how you’re in YOUR own way.”
It kind of sucked the whole process it took for me to finally get that message loud and clear, but now I finally get it on a deep level.
For years, as a person who was into personal development, I liked to spout off about how one should learn to get out of his own way and to come from the core of who he is because it made logical sense and it sounded good, but I will admit, beyond an intellectual understanding of these two concepts, I had little to no idea how to put these two concepts into action.
Well folks, after nearly a year of therapy, I’m pleased to announce not only do I “get it,” but I’m actively implementing it in my life.
To get out of your own way means to stop thinking, stop worrying, stop analyzing how things are going to work and just breathe deeply and become present in your entire body (below the head). This eliminates all the noise that comes from your ego and gets you in touch with YOU, the core essence of who you are.
It may be difficult connecting to the essence of you because you/’re so used to being up in your head, but with enough practice and in due time, you’ll be able to hear the whispers of your heart.
In your heart is contained your desires, your dreams, your yearnings and your inner promptings. In your heart is contained who you are and what you were meant for.
It is this very essence of who you are that you surrender to God, the Divine, the Universe, or whatever concept of a Higher Power you have, and invite His mind to be put in your mind.
When you do this, you put yourself in alignment with everything that IS.
Like the natural flow of a river, the changing of the seasons, the blowing of the wind, and the motion of the Earth spinning on its axis, there’s a flow to everything that is beyond our control, created by the Almighty. When we surrender to God, instead of resisting, we surrender to His order of how things flow, and become part of “the Flow,” God’s flow, where everything is naturally unfolding the way they were meant to.
As part of God’s creation, comprised of the very same atoms that make up the Universe, when we get out of own way and surrender, we become an open vessel through which God can use to help actualize whatever bigger picture He’s seeking to actualize.
There is absolutely NO way, that if you become part of a process, that you, and whatever gifts and treasures you have, won’t be used by that process to help unravel whatever was meant FOR that process to unravel or create whatever it was meant to create.
When you get out of your own way, you allow God to get in your way.
My days now consist of me trying to be as open as possible to be led, guided, prodded, shown, etc to do what it was meant for me to do by detaching from my Ego and seeking a connection with God. By doing this, I know that sooner or later, I will collide with my purpose in such a way that I will clearly know what it is.
If you’re frustrated because you can’t seem to find your purpose, learn to get out of your way, and your purpose will make its presence felt.
This is The Viable Alternative.
